Trainaq is a free workout tracker app and diet tracker for people who train with a coach: you follow your workouts, log meals, check in each week and chat with your trainer in one place. It also takes care of the admin, from booking sessions and classes to paying your coach in India and keeping your invoices. Here is every part of it, tab by tab.
Disclosure: NutraCore is affiliated with Trainaq.

What is Trainaq's client app, and who is it for?
Trainaq is the free client app for people who train with a coach on Trainaq Coach, in person or online. Your coach builds your workouts, sets your calorie and macro targets and runs your check-ins from their app or the web dashboard, and everything they set up appears in yours. It's on Android, through Google Play.
Trainaq comes from an Indian company, so it's built around how Indian clients eat and pay: Indian foods in household measures, UPI payments and GST invoices. It isn't a do-it-yourself fitness app with ready-made plans. It's the client half of a coaching platform, which is why it needs a coach. See the client app's feature page for a closer look.
What does each tab in the workout tracker app do?
The app has five tabs. Today is your daily dashboard, Train runs your workouts, Food is where you log meals, Progress holds your weekly check-in and weight trend, and Coach is your chat with your trainer. Together they cover what a coaching client needs every day, without juggling apps or WhatsApp threads.
Today
Today answers one question: what's left to do? It shows the calories and macros remaining for the day, the workout your coach has scheduled and the habits you're building. Glance at it after lunch to see how much protein you still need, and again at night to close the day out. Our post on tracking habits with your coach goes deeper. If you eat within a fasting window, NutraCore's guide to timing supplements with intermittent fasting is worth reading alongside.
Train
Train is the workout player. Each exercise comes with a 3D demo from Trainaq's library of 600+ exercises and 1,600+ HD 3D demo videos, and beside it you see what you lifted last time and your personal records. A rest timer keeps your breaks honest. For a beginner's take on learning form this way, read our guide to a gym workout app with 3D videos.
Food
Food is the diet tracker app side of Trainaq. You can photograph a meal and let AI read it, then confirm the food and amount yourself; search for a food; or scan a barcode, with product data from Open Food Facts. Indian foods can be logged in household measures, so a katori of rajma is simply a katori of rajma. If whey helps you reach your protein target, NutraCore's comparison of whey isolate and concentrate will help you choose. Our guide to logging Indian food has more tips.
Progress
Progress steps back from the daily detail. Your weekly check-in lives here, along with your weight trend, so one heavy morning after a salty dinner sits in the context of the whole month. Coaches on Trainaq can also keep progress photos and measurements, which often show changes the scale misses.
Coach
Coach is your chat with your trainer, and it takes photos, so you can send a restaurant menu, an unfamiliar machine at a hotel gym or a plate you're unsure how to log, and ask. Keeping these conversations in the app rather than your personal WhatsApp puts everything about your training in one place for both of you.
What else can you do in the app besides tracking?
Beyond workouts and food, Trainaq handles the business side of being a client. You can book group classes and 1:1 sessions, see your membership's validity and sessions left, pay your coach through payment links in India and open your invoices. Streaks for workouts, habits and logging tie it all together.
Group classes and waitlists
If your coach or studio runs group classes, you'll see upcoming classes in the app and can book a spot, and when one is full you can join its waitlist. Classes are part of Trainaq's Pro and Studio plans, so you'll see them only if your coach's plan includes them and they run classes.

1:1 sessions
For personal training, you can book 1:1 sessions with your coach from the app instead of trading messages to find a slot that suits you both. Session booking is included on every Trainaq coach plan.
Your membership
The membership screen shows how many days your plan has left and how many sessions remain, with links to book and pay from the same place. No more asking "how many sessions do I have left?" at the end of a workout.

Paying your coach in India
In India, your coach can send you a payment link, and you pay online by UPI, card or netbanking through Razorpay. If you live abroad and train with an Indian coach, you pay by international card. Every payment comes with an invoice or receipt (GST invoices in India), and your invoices are there in the app whenever you need them.
Streaks
Streaks run across workouts, habits and food logging. They turn a good week into something you can see, and give you a small reason to open the app on the days motivation is low.
How do you get started with your coach's invite link?
You start with an invite link from your coach. They add you in Trainaq Coach and send the link by WhatsApp, text or email; you install the free Trainaq app from Google Play and join through it. From then on, your workouts, targets, check-ins and chat all come from that one coach account.
- Ask for your link. Your coach adds you in Trainaq Coach and sends the invite.
- Install the app. Get Trainaq on your Android phone from Google Play.
- Join through the link. Open the invite and follow the steps to connect to your coach.
- Fill in what's asked. Your coach may send an intake form about your goals and routine before building your plan.
- Open Today. Your first workout, targets and habits appear as your coach assigns them.
If your trainer isn't on Trainaq yet
The client app can't run on its own, so if your trainer works from spreadsheets, PDFs or another app, they'll need to join first. Send them Trainaq Coach on Google Play. Coach plans are sized by active clients; as of 28 October 2026 they start at ₹799 a month + GST for up to 10 clients in India, with yearly plans cheaper per month and a 7-day free trial that needs no card. Prices can change, so check trainaq.com/in/pricing for current prices. Trainers moving over can import their client list from Excel or CSV on the web dashboard, then send each client an invite.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I pay anything for the Trainaq app?
No. Clients don't pay Trainaq anything. The subscription sits with your coach, and you pay your coach for coaching as you've agreed, which in India can be through a payment link in the app.
Does it work for online coaching as well as gym training?
Yes. Trainaq is built for personal trainers, online coaches, nutritionists, freelancers and coaching teams, so the same app works whether your coach trains you on the gym floor or from another city. Workouts, food logs, check-ins and chat work the same either way.
Which payment methods can I use?
In India, payment links from your coach accept UPI, cards and netbanking through Razorpay. If you're abroad and your coach runs an Indian business, you pay by international card. Your coach can also record cash payments.
Why use one app instead of WhatsApp and spreadsheets?
Because the pieces stay connected. Your workouts, food log, habits and check-ins sit in one account your coach can review, instead of being pieced together from chats, photos and a sheet, and you always know where your plan is.
Ready to try Trainaq with your coach?
If your coach already uses Trainaq, ask for your invite link today and install the free app; your first workout and targets will be waiting once they're assigned. If not, tell your trainer about Trainaq Coach. A 7-day free trial, with no card, lets them try it with you before deciding.
Whichever tab you start with, the habit that matters most is opening the app every day.
